I just had to share the beautiful goodies I received a couple of days ago from Rengin in Turkey. They are wonderful! The trims, the fabric, gorgeous pearl lace, incredible charms, ribbon, all of which are so exciting. I can’t wait to use them, in fact I have a plan for one of the projects I have going now. You can also see the amazing crocheted doilies her mother made for me! They look so pretty on my glass coffee table:) I love everything! Thank you Rengin and many thanks to your mother!
I finally got my machine working again and I’m elated! The first two quilts are for AmHero’s and the third one is my neighbor Sonja Muenger with her Christmas Present in July! lol My machine went bonkers the first of Dec. so I never got it quilted, so finally getting the machine back in working condition after all this time I was able to finish it. She knew she had something coming, just didn’t know what it was:) So we took it over to her the other day and she was very happy with it. I was very happy to have it done and able to give it to her! lol
Yesterday was my granddaughter’s 14th birthday and my 62nd:) We usually go out to dinner, just the two of us but this year she’s sick so we didn’t make it. We did however go out on Fri. night with the family and had a great time:) This is her quilt that she hasn’t been given yet. She got up yesterday morning not feeling good and got worse as the day wore on. So we’ll go over today and take her gifts to her and I hope she’s feeling lots better than she was.
Isn’t this just beautiful!!! I was the winner of Jill Phillip’s Pay It Forward and won this gorgeous Pinkeeper. She also sent some lovely bridal lace and some adorable charms! I was so excited. This has been a day and a half for me. I received an early Birthday present from my Secret Pal and it was a Gift Certificate from Vintage Vogue! What another surprise that was. I ordered the A-Z Embroidery Book 2 and will post it when it gets here. What a day! Thank you both for making my day so amazing!
When the postman came today what a surprise when this huge package was there. I had been RAOK’d by Jakkie! RAOK is a Random Act Of Kindness that a person just sends to another for no reason. Just exactly as it says, RAOK! There are beautiful fabrics, beads, motif’s trims, theads even needles! Thank you Jakkie and you can be sure I will “Pay It Forward”.
There’s a story behind this quilt I made for Barbara. It was a long time in the making for starters and then when I sent it to the quilters it came back with puckers, pleats and the back completely uneven. As big a difference as 3 inches on one end to 6 inches on the other. In my hysteria, between Susan Nixon and my DH they got me calmed down. lol I went ahead and “undid” where I could and did the binding with the intent of giving it to Barbara with the story of what happened. Then making her a new one. Well bless her heart, as she opened it and I was telling her what happened, she kept saying no she didn’t want another one she wanted only this one. lol 🙂 Friends are so amazing, no matter how flawed an item or WE are they love us anyway. What a wonderful Christmas present she gave me. (that’s Barbara standing next to the quilt:) )
We had a great time all day with the family and of course ate till we couldn’t move and will be eating left overs the rest of the week. I hope everyone’s Christmas was as good as mine and hope we’re all looking forward to a very very Happy New Year.
