French Toast Muffin's from Two Pea's In Their Pod  (thank you for the wonderful recipes)

Baked French Toast Muffins
Yield: 12 muffinsPrep Time: 15 minutes (Plus 2 hours to overnight in fridge)Cook Time: 25 minutes
Baked French Toast made in muffin cups. These muffins are too cute and a fun breakfast treat!

ingredients:
1 loaf French bread, cut or torn into 1/2 inch cubes (about 12 cups of bread)
2 1/2 cups milk
6 large eggs
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Streusel Topping:

1/4 cup cold butter
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose Gold Medal flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Butter and Maple Syrup, for serving, optional

directions:
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.

2. Grease a 12 cup muffin tin. Add about 1 cup of bread cubes to each muffin cup. Carefully pour egg and milk mixture evenly over each muffin tin. You may need to press down on the bread cubes after you pour a little mixture and then pour more. Pour slowly or you will have a mess. Cover the muffins with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours or up to overnight.

3. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. To make the cinnamon streusel, in a small bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Mix together with your hands, until you have a crumbly mixture. Remove the muffins from the refrigerator and sprinkle the muffins evenly with the streusel topping.

4. Bake for 25 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Let muffins cool for 5 minutes. Remove from pan and serve with butter and maple syrup, if desired.

The Government Shut Down

It doesn’t matter what party you belong to, in fact I think a lot of people feel that way.   I know I’m really really fed up with our government and the shut down.  So many people have been hurt by it and it will take them a long time to recover from it.  I’m not a prolific writer so this is coming from my heart.  Please please stop this nonsense and stop acting like a two year old just  told he can’t have. a cookie !! Not only is our country hurting, but the world see’s us as unable to govern our countr and don’t care what happen’s to the world economy.  This has got to stop, now!! Not next week or next month!  Listen to the people!!

Cinnabon Cinnamon Cake

I’ve been collecting new recipe’s for the last few month’s and I’ve really found some good ones. This one I got from The Six Sister’s Blog. Check it out they will leave you droooooooling! Lol.  http://www.sixsistersstuff.com

CINNABON CINNAMON ROLL CAKE
Cake: 3 c. flour
1/4 tsp.salt
1 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter, melted

Topping:
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
Directions: Mix everything together except for the butter. Slowly stir in the melted butter and pour into a greased 9×13 pan.

For the topping, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Drop evenly over the batter and swirl with a knife. Bake at  350degrees for 28-32 minutes.

Glaze

2 cups powdered sugar

5 Tbl. Milk

1 tsp. vanilla

While warm drizzle theglaze over the cake.
